Pastor Barbara Berry
Interim Pastor
Pastor Barbara Barry has been serving Trinity Lutheran Chambersburg as Interim Pastor since September 5, 2023. She served two congregations as a called/settled pastor before the Holy Spirit called her to use her gifts for interim ministry. Her first call was to Quickel Lutheran in York, PA, where she served 9 years from 2009 – 2018. She then moved to Trinity Greencastle and served 3 years from 2018 – 2022. Her first interim call was to Solomon’s Lutheran in Chambersburg, where she served one year before being called to Trinity Chambersburg.
Pastor Barb was ordained in June 2009 after graduating from Gettysburg Seminary in 2008. She is passionate about proclaiming God’s love as found in the gospels; we are freed to love and serve others because God first loved us. She is an active volunteer with the Waynesboro Health and Community Services.
Pastor Barb lives in the Greencastle Borough with her cat, Gus. She has two married daughters, Stephanie and Kristen. She currently has 3 loves of her life: Emmett, her grandson, and Gwen and Serenity, her granddaughters, who fill her life with joy and laughter. When not involved with church or community, Pastor Barb can be found socializing with friends, reading, puttering in her garden, or hiking and camping in the woods.

Pastor Ruth Smith
Visitation Pastor
Pastor Ruth was ordained in 1996 and has spent most of her ministry in Lower Susquehanna Synod. Her double undergraduate major was in Church Music and Elementary Education, and her work over the years has included those two fields as well as the hospital lobbying industry in Washington DC. She has been Trinity’s visitation pastor since 2017, and a part-time interim pastor at Salem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hall, PA since 2011.
Over the years her most consistent favorite hobby has continued to be reading historical mysteries, especially in medieval settings. Earlier years included a lot of time spent in tent camping and hiking all over the United States. Her two grandchildren are now in college in Delaware and Virginia.
