“Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”
— 1 John 3:18, NRSV
Trinity offers multiple opportunities for members to serve in the greater community. Each year, we participate with the Salvation Army by ringing bells, and we pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We also take donations for personal care kits and back to school kits, which helps Lutheran World Relief. These opportunities are available for youth and adults alike.
There are also many chances during the year to collect food for the Food Pantry, and you can offer your car or manual labor when the Homeless Connection is moving a family into their new home. House of Grace often welcomes volunteers to serve their noon meal, which members are encouraged to participate in. Saints Among Us collects baked goods in the fall and distributes them to our first responders. If you love to bake, this would be a great chance to share your gift.
Spiritrust Lutheran offers discount cards to local restaurants and businesses, which are sold once a year and are a great investment or gift. Board membership is also available for Spiritrust Lutheran and UCCA.
For congregation members specifically, we send flowers to any members who are staying in the hospital. We also host funerals and receptions for any member that passes away. More information about these things can be inquired about in the Church Office.
Trinity is constantly involved in community outreach. Some of the organizations we support are BOPIC (Building Our Pride in Chambersburg), the Cold Weather Shelter, the Franklin County Homeless Shelter, and Women in Need.
